During World War II, Lt. Tommy Hart was arrested by the Germans and sent to a prison camp run by the tyrannical Col. Werner Visser. Col. William McNamara is responsible for overseeing the American prisoners. Two new prisoners of war are entering at Stalag VI: Lincoln Scott and Lamar Archer, two blacks are not welcome lieutenants.
